Banana Foster Pancakes with Pecans

It is high time we made foster pancakes. Bananas cooked in caramel. Tasty. Bananas cooked in caramel with pecans on top of light and fluffy pancakes? Try to control yourself. I admit these pancakes are completely decadent and full of sugar and other sinful ingredients, but it’s ok to enjoy something so delicious from time to time, right? If your immediate reaction wasn’t a nod, then maybe these protein pancake recipes will be more up your alley.


1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp sugar

¼ tsp salt

1 cup milk

2 eggs

3 tbsp butter

Ingredients for bananas foster

2 tbsp butter

2/3 cup brown sugar

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1 tbsp milk

2 bananas

1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions for the pancakes

In a mixing bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. In a smaller bowl, whisk the eggs, butter and milk to combine. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and whisk until just combined.

Heat a frying pan on medium-high heat. Grease with butter. Pour ¼ cup batter over the pan for each pancake. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.

Keep them warm in an oven heated to 200 degrees F.

Instructions for the banana foster

Clean the frying pan.

Grease with 2 tbsp butter. When it bubbles add the brown sugar, then the vanilla and milk. Let is sizzle. Stir until the color is caramel brown. Add the sliced bananas and chopped pecans. Cook until the sauce thickens and the bananas are soft.

Serve hot, poured over the pancakes.
